Hello, my name is Cosmin, I come from Romania, and I have grown up and lived in Greece. My journey as a handpan maker began with a simple dream to own a handpan after watching a video of Hang Massive on YouTube. I could not afford one, but a friend once said why don’t you make one yourself and that single sentence sparked an idea that changed my life. I always had a talent for technical work, even though I had no background in music theory or instrument making. Still, my years as a professional dancer taught me what dedication to art really means. Trusting that instinct, I decided to take a leap into this craft. During the first quarantine my first creation came to life, an E minor 8 which I still keep as a symbol of where it all started. For me, making handpans is not just a creative process. It is a way to help people express themselves through music and to bring healing and harmony into the world. This work fulfills me and makes me feel that I am contributing to something positive. Today I am proud to be part of the HONA Festival team, supporting Stephanie’s vision.
